Siloshini Naidoo is an Environmental Specialist and has 17 years' experience in the environmental risk management field. She has her undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications in the Environmental Sciences field.
She has worked across the mining, renewable energy, infrastructure sectors in her engineering consulting career and headed up the Environmental and Social Risk division within Nedbanks Corporate Investment Banking arm for nearly ten years.
She provided technical and strategic expertise on a diverse range of projects/investments within the environmental management, sustainable investment/lending space, including Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) due diligence, Equator Principle and IFC advisory and review.
She also through her position at Nedbank and now at DBSA manages key relationships with other DFI's such as the DEG, IFC, AFD through its credit line E&S obligations.
While she is not a climate specialist, she has exposure to the complexity of embedding and operationalizing carbon accounting methodologies and other related reporting requirements against credit and other systems within a bank.
She is also exposed to the complexities surrounding embedding and managing ESG related indices on sustainable finance debt instruments.
She was appointed at DBSA in January 2023 to head up the ESG department.

Mrs. Nana Maidugu is the Head of Sustainability and ESG at the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority, where she is responsible for developing and driving NSIA’s sustainability strategy & climate initiatives, as well as implementation of NSIA’s ESG framework across the Authority, its $2.5bn investment portfolio and its partnerships.
With extensive experience in infrastructure investment, Nana has a track record in executing and managing strategic, impactful investments including several climate-focused projects.
Nana serves on several national committees including the Presidential Committee on Project Evergreen, Intergovernmental Committee on Carbon Market Activation and the Nigeria Climate Change Fund Steering Committee, where she plays a key role in the development and implementation of important national climate policies and programs.
Nana has antecedent at KPMG, a professional services firm, where she worked in Management Consulting. She holds a First-Class Bachelor’s degree in Computer Systems Engineering from the University of Kent and a Master’s degree in Oil and Gas Management from the University of Dundee.

Dr. Lee-Ann Modley is a distinguished academic serving as Deputy Head of Department and Senior Lecturer at the University of Johannesburg, where she specializes in environmental management and sustainable development. Armed with a PhD in Environmental Management, Dr. Modley spearheads various initiatives in sustainable finance and climate change, making substantial contributions to environmental research and community engagement. She plays a pivotal role in shaping the academic landscape through her leadership and mentorship of postgraduate students.
Dr. Modley's extensive involvement in international advisory boards underscores her commitment to global sustainability efforts. Her roles as a Local Coordinator for South Africa in Una Europa's Virtual Exchanges for Sustainability, a member of the Scientific Advisory Board at RIMM Sustainability in Singapore, and a Local Director for the Sustainable Territorial and Development Masters at the Erasmus Mundus International Program attest to her broad influence in the field.
Additionally, Dr. Modley's active participation in various organizations and committees, such as the Premiers Expert Advisory Committee On Climate Change (PEACCC) subcommittee and the Green Building Council of South Africa's Task Force on Nature and ESG, highlights her dedication to advancing environmental causes at both local and international levels.
Recognized as one of the M&G Top 200 young South Africans in the 2022 cohort, Dr. Modley is a trailblazer in her field. Her academic journey, culminating in a Bachelor of Science in Natural Sciences, an Honours degree in Zoology, a Masters in Environmental Management, and a PhD in Environmental Management from the University of Johannesburg, reflects her unwavering pursuit of knowledge and expertise.
Furthermore, Dr. Modley's commitment to professional development is evident in her completion of various online courses on sustainable finance, climate change law and policy, sustainable reporting, and corporate governance. Her certifications from esteemed institutions like the Institute for Sustainability Leadership at Cambridge University underscore her dedication to staying at the forefront of environmental scholarship.
Dr. Modley's professional affiliations with organizations such as the South African Council For Natural Scientist Professions, the Water Institute of South Africa, and the International Water Association highlight her standing as a respected figure in the environmental community. Her multifaceted contributions to academia, research, and community engagement exemplify her passion for driving positive change in the realm of environmental sustainability.
