These can be processed within existing recycling streams, ensuring that the transition to sustainable materials does not require a total overhaul of global waste management hardware.
However, the role of biopolymers is not just about disposal; it is about carbon management. By sequestering atmospheric carbon during the growth phase of the feedstock, biopolymer production often has a significantly lower carbon footprint than traditional plastic manufacturing. As brands face mounting regulatory pressure and consumer demand for "green" alternatives, biopolymers serve as a critical tool for building resilient, low-carbon, and regenerative packaging ecosystems that protect both products and the planet.
